Wise up the waste

We people waste natural resources; waste management across the globe has become a pressing issue. Up to 75% of your waste could be recycled or reused in some way. It is the responsibility of individuals to plan their waste disposal efficiently and be more organised. Waste is a big problem. The good news is that we can prevent, reuse and recycling.

Nothing less than expected

We have observed that all our clients do recycling and carefully manage to separate the waste to different bins helping the environment. There are many ways to recycle and reduce waste, to help even more we have created a top 3 effective ways of waste management.

Create a recycling system

At home is where people can make the biggest impact to the amount that you recycle. Recycling is easy and requires minimal effort if you create a system in your home. Try to sort plastic, glass and paper by putting them in separate bin. This makes it easier for the recycling process. All your plastic use, like bottles can be recycled from salad dressing to mouth wash tubes, containers, pots and their tops and lids too.

Avoid plastic

Plastic can be recycling but most of them are not recycled, a lot ends up in landfill where it can take up to 500 years to decompose. When doing groceries bring your own shopping bag, it’s a waste buying those plastic bags to carry all your heavy groceries all the time. Use cloth bags instead of plastic; this will also reduce the waste you bring into your house. Plan ahead by purchasing several reusable bags so you don’t forget to bring them along. For storage at home, avoid plastic containers to store kitchen items, use glass for this. It is healthier for both, your family and the environment. Also avoid bottled drinks; this is a major source of waste in many places. If you do choose to purchase drinks bottle, go for the large containers rather than the small ones.

Donate items

Make sure you do not waste items that are in a good condition, by giving them away for reuse. If you have unwanted or old clothing, electronics or other items that are in decent condition, donate them instead of throwing them out the trash. There are several orphanages and shelters that welcome donations. Better they end up in someone’s closet or in a classroom than in the landfill.

Some may seem like “common sense”, but just small changes can make a better world, a world of difference.
