How To Reduce Winter Condensation

Condensation is often an issue during winter months. It’s not to be completely avoided but there are some ways to help reduce it. Here are some tips from us to you: 1. Open drapes and shades, condensation is more likely to happen when these are pulled down. 2. Remember that some rooms that are more prone to moisture, like kitchen and bathroom, need more ventilation. Make sure you use your exhaust fan when cooking or showering, circulate the air! 3. Lower your settings if you use a humidifier, to help prevent the condensation on windows. This is for the relative humidity to come down, when this is balanced condensation is more unlikely to happen. Often condensation issues during winter months leads to mould growth which is also very annoying. If this happens, take swift action with relevant products used to remove this. There might be a chance you have to paint over the areas where this has been developed, especially if it is too much, but make sure you clarify the situation with the owner first.
